Weekly Sirens Testing of National Early Warning System (NEWS) for Tongatapu and Eua, to start Friday 26^th of August, 2022.

This is a public announcement from the Department of Communications, MEIDECC, to all members of the public that the Department will conduct a siren testing on Friday 26^th of August, 2022 for Tongatapu and Eua areas. Please take note this is a TESTING EXERCISE of the Sirens for the public. Clear message indicating is a TESTING EXERCISE will be played from the Sirens.

These Sirens are located at low-land areas that are vulnerable to natural disasters such as Tsunami and storm surge. This TESTING EXERCISE will be conducted weekly every Friday at noon, until further notice.
